Swipe for full statement, also in our story highli Swipe for full statement, also in our story highlights and posted imminently at funscad.ca “To this end, we call for the following immediate actions to be taken at NSCAD: • Tuition waivers for all Black Canadian and Indigenous students accepted to NSCAD from now until 2025. This action holds NSCAD accountable to the memorandum of understanding signed in 2019 between NS universities and the Department of Labour and Advanced Education to “maintain and improve accessibility to under-represented communities”
• Transformation of the Board of Governors to include Black Canadian and Indigenous members by the end of the 2020-21 academic year
• Increased efforts to hire Black Canadian and Indigenous senior administrators • Increased efforts to hire Black Canadian and Indigenous tenured faculty • Acceptance of the language that FUNSCAD has proposed regarding qualifications for Indigenous applicants for faculty positions, which would include Indigenous ways of teaching and knowledge-keeping
• The establishment of systems of support for all of our Black Canadian and Indigenous students, including on-campus access to Black Canadian and Indigenous counsellors and mentors
Now is the time for lasting action!

In solidarity,
Executive Committee, FUNSCAD”

Posted @withregram • @studentunionofnscad Hello everyone! SUNSCAD has been working hard with students to raise awareness for the fight against yet another tuition increase at NSCAD. Today, we went to the media to help spread the word even further, regarding how unjustified and wrong the increase would be at such a uncertain time for many students. You can find the article on Halifax today at
https://www.halifaxtoday.ca/local-news/nscad-students-considering-just-not-coming-back-if-tuition-increases-again-2434141

Also!! Thank you to everyone who has signed the tuition freeze petition!! Our community is working hard! We have 12 days until the B.O.G meeting, so please spread the word and the petition as much as possible! Anyone can sign!
